  • Exhibit: This is the fourth in a series of Bobby's Coca-Cola Showcase exhibit at the Los Altos Library.  The number one soft drink brand in Japan is not Coca-Cola but Georgia Coffee.  The number one blended tea brand in Japan is Sokenbicha with sales exceeding $1 billion per year.  Both Georgia and Sokenbicha are two of Coca-Cola's top global brands.  Coca-Cola's partnership with Nestle for nearly 20 years also produced a large portfolio of ready-to-drink beverages made with coffee beans or tea leaves.  In this exhibit, you will see a selection of bottles and cans of Coca-Cola's coffee and tea beverage brands: Georgia, Hajime, Seiryusabo, and Sokenbicha (Japan), Yuan Ye (China), Ten Ren (Taiwan), Chun Chashe, Nescafe (Hong Kong), Heaven and Earth (Singapore), Enviga, Fuze and Gold Peak (USA). Check out exotic flavors of Nestea with Honey Lychee, or Lemon with Aloe Vera Pulps.  Compare the latest coffee creation by Coca-Cola and illycaffe in two stylish designs from Denmark and Japan.  You will also see a complete set of Coca-Cola Blak (Coke+Coffee fusion) ever produced from France, Canada and the United States, and the latest green tea-flavored Coca-Cola from Japan.

Bobby's Coca-Cola Coupons Print E-mail

Coca-Cola pioneered the use of coupons to advertise its beverage to the public in the late 1880s.  Earliest coupons offer complimentary glass servings of Coca-Cola at the soda fountains in Atlanta.  One of my favorite coupons in my collection is the Lillian Nordica advertising card with coupon from 1905.

1905 - Nordica Ad Card and Free Glass of Coke Coupon

The coupon states: "This card entitles you to a glass of Coca-Cola at the fountain of any dispenser of genuine Coca-Cola."

  • Exhibit: This is the third in a series of Bobby's Coca-Cola Showcase exhibit at the Los Altos Library. In this exhibit, Bobby discusses the highlights of the 110-year history of Coca-Cola's association with music and singers in its advertising from 1899 to 2009 in a 2000-word essay entitled "Coca-Cola's Greatest Hits."  The showcase features a collection of Coca-Cola bottles, cans and ads featuring popular musical artists and promotions from the Supremes to the Rolling Stones and from the Grammy's to American Idol.  Other international artists include David Bowie, Sting, Hebe of SHE (Taiwan), Xie Tingfeng (aka Nicholas Tse, Hong Kong), and Mos & Tata (Thailand).  Original 1950s souvenir vinyl records from Coke Time with Eddie Fisher and sheet music for Rum & Coca-Cola, Look up America and Coca-Cola's greatest hit of all-time, I'd Like to Teach the World to Sing, are the highlights of this year's showcase.

The first Coke bottle in my collection is a German Coca-Cola glass bottle which I brought home from the Hilton Berlin Hotel as a memento in April 1994.  Since then everywhere I travel, I always stop by the local convenient store or supermarket looking for new contour-shaped bottles to bring home to add to my collection.

Here are some of my favorite bottles:

Thanks to Talib - a fellow collector in the UAE - has identified the following Arabic/English bilingual script bottle to be from Egypt.

The first Coke can in my collection is a 500ml tall German Coke can that I brought home from Berlin, Germany in April 1994. The oldest Coke can in my collection is a 1965 diamond can from Portland, Oregon.  The smallest Coke can is a 135ml can from Japan.  The most unusual can is a can commemorating the world's first production run of New Coke given to employees of the Coca-Cola Bottling Company of New York in April 1985.

Here are some of my favorite cans:

1993 California Dream air-filled can from Japan FIFA World Cup 2002 bottle-can from Japan 2008 Beijing Olympic can from Hong Kong Coca-Cola Santa 2001 Beijing China 500ml Coke can
